Finished Five Points home bar with deep green cabinets, handcrafted wood shelving and wine racks.

Five Points · Raleigh, NC

A favorite drink, a relaxed evening, and a space that feels like home. This Five Points renovation turned a dated, carpeted room into a warm, welcoming home bar with rich wood details and a new connection to the outdoors.

Working with what was already there

The homeowner wanted this space to feel different—and work differently. The plan was to replace the carpet with luxury vinyl plank flooring, remove the existing shelving, refinish the lower cabinets, and transform the room into a bar. Fresh paint would tie the space together, while replacing the windows with a bi-fold door would open up the connection to the outdoor area.

Copp Construct + Design brought those changes together in this Five Points home in Raleigh. Keeping and refinishing the lower cabinets gave the bar a new look while making use of an existing part of the room.

Custom shelving and wine racks, made by hand

Deep green cabinetry and warm wood details give the finished bar its character. All of the shelving and wine racks were custom-made entirely by hand for this home. The shelves display glassware and bottles, while the handcrafted wine storage and warm lighting bring the wall together. The LVP flooring replaces the carpet with a wood-look surface that carries through the room.

A new connection to the outdoors

The bi-fold door changes how the room meets the outdoor space. Where there were windows, the new doorway creates a connection between the bar and the area beyond—a fitting finishing touch for this home bar.
